Do I have to make an appointment or can I just walk in?

The practice primarily works on an appointment basis. Please contact the practice to make an appointment. Walk-in patients are welcome however patients with appointments and emergencies are treated with priority.

One appointment per patient is required. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A non-cancellation fee may apply if you do not attend an appointment. Two hours notice of cancellation is required.

Do I need a long consultation?

We do standard 10 minute appointments. Some services like pap smears, health assessments, skin checks, or if you have a number of complex concerns to discuss with your GP, may need longer appointments.

How are diagnostic test results managed?

All results need to be discussed face to face with a doctor. Test results are only given to the patient concerned, these results are generally not given over the phone and you will generally be asked to make an appointment with your Doctor to follow up.

How do I get a medical certificate?

Medical Certificates can be provided by your doctor following a consultation, unfortunately they cannot be backdated. Please try to present early in your illness should you require this service.

How do I get a Script / Prescription?

You need to make an appointment to see a doctor for all scripts. If you have lost your script the doctor will decide if another can be issued without an appointment; a $15 administration fee may be charged.

Is it possible to have telephone consultations?

Emergency Phone calls will be forwarded directly to the Doctor; however it is unsafe to consult on an illness over the phone. In keeping with our philosophy of best practice, telephone consultations will not be carried out and patients are encouraged to make an appointment with the receptionist. If you require nursing advice you may be directed to an experienced practice nurse.

How is my confidentiality and privacy managed?

The practitioners adhere to the AMA code of Ethics regarding Privacy and Confidentiality, please be assured that your medical records and consultations are kept in the strictest confidence.

How do I transfer my Medical records from my old practice/ doctors to this practice?

Do I need to make an appointment for blood test?

As long as you have a pathology request form from your GP, you do not need to make an booking, just visit the practice and see the onsite pathology collectors.

I am a work cover patient, how can I organise a consultation with a doctor?

Work cover patients will be treated the same as regular patients. These patients must inform their employer before their first consultation and provide a claim number related to their current case.

I would like to see a specialist. How can I organise a specialist consultation?

Specialists typically require a referral letter from a GP. Please make an appointment with a GP to ask about a referral letter. It is illegal to back-date referrals.

We are constantly striving to improve the quality of our service. We value your input, and any suggestion that you may have that could assist the practice in enhancing the quality of our service will be reviewed. We believe that problems are best dealt within the practice.
